  • Vinyl Numberplates...

    Gentlefolk,

been doing some sniffing about... with regard to Vinyl numberplates, ie. stuck to the bonnet leading edge...

Basically, if you vehicle is registered after '72 its got to be a standard plate. Unless its an import and a standard plate wouldn't fit...

So what have others done with regard to this... not wanting to attract anymore attention than my baby does already...

I am thinking along the lines if a US style plate that should still bolt to the fittings on the Warn bumper... if it looks 'factory' it may get nothing more than a 2nd look...

Other option, is to fabricate a vertical bracket and put it on the leading edge of the roof rack... like the old camel trophy LR's used to do...

I've got a vinyl one on the bonnet of my 2.4, and nothing on the front, and a bonnet guard....and been frowned at, but that's about it....

I may have me wires crossed but... if you want a no. plate that wont be in front of the winch fairlead... a while ago i found a site with quick disconnects.

www.scorpionracing.co.uk have something like that for land rovers. dont know if you could fabricate it to suit a surf .
