  • RT Rear diff locker.

I've been looking at the Rough Trax site and seen the trutrack rear diff locker for the 2nd gen.
In the blurb they say it's a diff locker then they say it's a limited slip diff carrier.
Can it be put into the open diff assemly?
Does it then turn an open diff into an lsd?
I'm confused because I didn't think you can use a straight diff locker on tarmac and they state that it's good for on and off road.

They are a mechaincal LSD. But works like a open diff on the road, and tight LSD offroad. It'll never give you true 50/50 split to each wheel like a proper locker, but better than an open diff, and less slip offroad but more predicable road manners than the clutch pack LSD's like the Original Toyota ones.

Do you recon it'd be worth fitting one?
      How easy would it be?

To be honest I'd spend the extra and get a manual locker, like the ARB. But they are way better than a open diff, and half the price of a ARB.

Fitting is a specialist job, a good few special tools and parts needed if you don't want to ruin your gear set in a couple of hundred miles.

          Cheers.
          More research needed then.
