Rear View Mirror

Errm its fallen off some time ago and I cant seem to work out how to get it back on....

Is there a clip which goes in first to hold it in or something?

If so ive lost it

As far as I remember when I had to do mine there are two small split pins and the mirror just clicks in to these without these the mirror just drops out.

The dog knocked mine and when i adjusted it it just came off in my hand.
I took the light cover off, disconnected the wiring, undid the 4 screws holding the unit in, put the rear view mirror back in place then put the 2 cylindrical shaped things that hold the mirror in place back in and adjusted them so they will hopefully not let go again. Screwed the unit back in, reconnected the wiring and clipped the cover back on.
Hey presto, no more reversing into BMW's.

ok so no missing clips just need to operate on the light a bit

Yup mine was loose the cylindrical clip things needed re opening, flaired them out a bit, put it back together all ok.

Why are they there anyway?? All my previous cars it just used to just bolt to the roof, or stick to the windscreen....
