It's dead easy to do yourself if the vehicle is more than 10 years old - no SVA just get an mot done, fill in the correct dvla form and part with money. My '93 2nd gen costs £175 for road tax - I can't remember what the registration cost was but it wasn't that bad.

Its suprisingly easy, as long as you don't have to go through SVA, or ESVA if its a much newer car. Its not As for costs, its beena while since I did it, I think it was £140 then plus tax.. (back in the day when I was trying my hand at importing)
