As quite a new owner of a 1993 3Ltr Surf and owning two Ranfe Rovers over the years, i would never buy a British Leyland vehicle again. My last car was 1988 Jaguar and i thought i would miss it, but since having Surf have not missed it for a second. Cruises quite happily at 85-90 and goes like !!!! from a shovel. When buying it, check it out thoroughly as although i went on test drive etc didn't notice under nice mats footwells soaking wet. Ended up costing a packet to have heater matrix replaced which is big job. Someone had even plugged up heater hose with a bolt and glue to try to stop leak and in process broke part of heater control.
Only because of this site i got as good as new one for £40.
Forget the Discovery and discover the Hilux Surf.
