Can anyone recomend a mechanic/garage that knows surfs in the North London area?

  • #2
    no.
    not even toyota are reliable.
go and see tonyN for major work. if you going to put it in any garage who doesnt know surfs, disconnect the 4WD button so that its impossible for them to engage 4WD and drive it round = ruining your box.
you will have to do a forum search for that
    cheers
    Oh Nana, what's my name?

The only garage I recomend is 4X4 Toys (TonyN). He's in Basingstoke, which is a little run from yourself, but for piece of mind, and the knowledge that the job is done properly it's worth it.
      Gone from 4x4 to 1x2

i know someone near to you who we have used for years for all our cars. not a Surf specialist as such but has worked on mine a few times and is very trustworthy.
call RS Motors (Rob), he is near Ikea/Costco off the A406. 0208 345 7170, tell him Tim with the Surf gave you the number.

              Well you never know.

I'd really like it done properly. Might take a wee holiday down there. Do you work weekends

Unfortunatly not, I've getting to much stick at home for working on all everyone else's trucks, but never fixing Lindas, or the other 3 project trucks scattered around the place, or the new horse lorry, or Lindas new horse arena, or the upcoming house extection........you get the idea...

So weekends and Wednesdays are strictly 'NO WORKDAYS!!!' around here for the forseable future for anything not owned by us!!

Actually the B&B is offically closed for business as of last month, as the old guy is renting the whole place out to a company for local contractors housing, and he's moved to Devon on the procedes.

Hi Tony, Whats your nearest train station? Or, if the work can be done in a day, what are some of the delights of Stokie?

Thanks Dirty,I use a mechanic who has moved near Barnet. Although he has been fine in the past, he freaked me out with an estimate for a new cambelt and full service. I might try yours in the interim. Mines problem is, if the reg dont show up on he's computer, he dont know what bits to get. And because its an import,it wont. Same trouble getting ins.

Basingstoke, I can drop people off and collect them from the station, its only 5mins. Most people who can't leave it with me either hang around and throw balls for the dog or go shopping for the day.
