trolley jacks

i have a wee 2 ton trolley jack but have to use a block of wood to lift the surf so its time for a decent one.

what max height should i be looking at?

dont want to spend a fortune either, just one that will lift the surf safelly, without the need for my 5" cutting of oak.

Machine Mart do a 4x4 one but its difficult to lift the surf as you dont get much leverage from the Jack Bar. Its a CLARKE one.

Dont know about lift height but I have a Clark 3T quick lift from Machine Mart. Cant rememember what I paid but I see they are currently £41 inc vat. I have a suspension lift and it lifts mine up no bother with room to spare. Its got an adjustable saddle too for even more lift, tho must admit I have it on minimum adjustment.

According to machine mart catalogue Max height 520mm and saddle minimum 195mm. I feelmore comfortable using a 3T jack as opposed to the 2T (and the lump of wood) I had before

Its quiet, the southern lot are all down cornwall ploughing up some waste land, wrecking their Surfs and drinking some village pub dry as they swap tall tales about heroic deeds and ever more daring four x four feats, becoming taller and more daring as the barrels get lower in level

you can get those super quick ones: three pumps and its up
