In the new job.
What can I say? It's been fantastic! Great, friendly bunch of lads. Informal, laid back atmosphere, combined with a strong work ethic.
Haven't seen ANY of the management bullsh1t that I used to have to deal with for 2/3rds of my working week in my old job. THAT was the bit that ground me down. Incessant paperwork and procedure and red-tape. Seems in this job, the work comes first, the bulls1t can go to hell as long as the job gets done! VERY refreshing attitude!
This week I've worked on a 'new bit of Army technology' I wont go in to, a Rolls Royce APU and a radar simulator destined for the Swiss airforce. Next week, there's a bl00dy great tractor in the large test chamber!
I know I've not really been there long enough to make a definite judgement, but at the moment I'm thinking it's been one of the best decisions I ever made!
So, if you're thinking of a change of career, GO FOR IT! If you don't, you'll never know!
