  • To the plumbers....

I've fitted a new sink, and finally sorted out the problems with the waste pipes....who knew a 32mm pipe could be different diameters......

Anyhooo - what is the correct tool to use to tighten the HUGE nut that attaches the plug thingy to the bottom of the basin???

    I've got a pipe wrench, but that doesn't fit/grip....

silicon waste top and bottom and tighten the back nut with your hand - they are only plastic - you'll snap it of you put to much force on it

                regards,

                alex

Best use plumbers mate around the top of sink hole and pinchthe nut up either with hand ( if your ard enuff) of gently with grips.

It's a metal screw/nut under the sink, and I've got it as tight as I can by hand, but still Lee King - so I'll use a 52mm spanner to get it tighter...

to ensure no water creeps down the thread of the waste, use some PTFE tape on the thread before fitting the nut , a poly washer between china and backnut is also a good idea
Did I mention I have a BLUE one

no dont carry on tightening it - you'll only break somthing - get a foam gasket for the underside of the watse and a decent rubber washer above the back nut

                              regards,
