Aye im headin down to torquay to visit my folks, 1200 mile round trip, so want truck finished and ready, she has no runnin difficulties as it is but, i think a little help for the original head is a must. All my new pipe work and ducting, scoops e.t.c must help, all ma waterways are crystal clear, and ma new rad cap and thermostat should hold i think. Intercooler for the long uphill stretches on motorway would top it off nicely.Without Surf And Unhappy

Something just occured to me...
If you fit an intercooler, this means you get more air into the combustion process, which means the ECU needs to allow in more fuel in order to get a correct combustion.
More fuel in a diesel engine means more heat (opposite of petrol engine).
Mind you, this might be more to do with a rich balance (ie winding up the screw on the fuel pump) rather than simple quantity of fuel / air mixture.Cutting steps in the roof of the world

Food for thought though. Having said that with a load on board and a few uphill slogs to contend with, extra umph would be handy.
One hill in particular knocks my wifes hdi C3 into 3rd gear going up it for a few miles. May just go around it another way.
Is the pump mod any use, i.e mixture screw under the plastic on the top??? Ive never touched that yet. Also do i need a boost guage to do turbo mod or just make sure of right size washers?Without Surf And Unhappy
