but while I think on, anyone know if I can run say a 50:50 mix in an l reg landrover defender 90 tdi? if I can, I might just make my dads day.

If its 93/94 you should be fine! try first 10% then next time 15% until you start noting problems, i would say 60% summer 25% winter. I cant be held responsible for problems.

Exept the death of a Landrover, I had to tow one out the mud other day with roaxd tyres on!!!

yeah i did sort of ask for that having used such a swear word!

its my dads, and he's a farmer, so just trying to save him some money really. i take it they have fuel pumps that can take it then?

Basically you need to find out whether it is a bosch type pump or a lucas pump. Bosch or nippon or any of that type is very adept for veg oil. lucas takes 5% no more.

I think L**d R***rs are bosch, will try find out for you.

Yes providing you step it up gradually watching for sruggle starting you should be fine, even up to 70% when weather is warm

If it's an older Bosch pump, that is. Newer Bosch pumps, if I remember correctly, are as tolerant for VO use as the Lucas I.P's.

My Defender is a 2.5 N/A Diesel. Unless they have changed manufactures, his will be a LUCAS CAV fuel pump. Mine is a Lucas CAV fuel pump, part No ERC 6761.
