help 2.4 1993 no drive in low ratio

hi i am a new owner to the hilux

i have 4wd in high went in the mud and started fine but then changed down into low with the stick no light no 4wd ? then into drive on the auto box NO drive at all
looked at everything now
even got the stick out of the top of the box now! thought it could not be in drive but all seems ok by moving it by hand
select it back to high and its fine again ,its a newish box 12/06
help has anyone come a cross this

Just to check...

Your auto box needs to be in N to change Hi/Lo 4WD, the switch needs to be pushed in on the Hi/Lo shift too - otherwise it won't work. If the Hi/Lo shift is between Hi and Lo, you won't get any drive - so pull it back into Hi with the auto box in N, make sure 4WD button is out (no 4WD) and try again...

yep i have done all this
i just think its the transfer box it cant be nothing else
i have the stick out so i can see the bar which works the selecter pushed it in as far as it gos
i have had 4wd for years and never came across this form high to low ????
4wd in high is fine just no drive in low
when putting it in theres a click for the relay but no feeling if you get my drift
hard to put into words !
put it back in 4high and you geta little chunch so you know its in lol
but its all incased so can't see anything looks like stip down or just get a transfer box ???
is there anyone in south wales could take a look ?
