Wow! Busy forum! Hi everyone, glad to be a surfer.
Really is a pleasure to drive. I had it in for a service today actually just to see what was what. The person who mentioned rear coil springs - HOW did you know THAT??? The mechanic did say that the rear coil springs are corroded and will need replacing soon!
Also both front drive shaft boots starting to split.

Great looking truck though eh? Luv it.

Photo of the interior is interesting… my hi –low gear stick is totally different. Maybe they fitted a different auto box in the V6 petrol version???

He knew from the Photos. Its got ever such a slight touch of saggy arse syndrome, a common surf complaint usually cured by new springs. Youll be an expert at spotting it yourself soon enough. I had no medical or surfical background before I joined the forum, I can now spot a saggy arse Surf at hundreds of paces on a dark night or misty day and as soon as Ive got close enough for a cursory examination ( to ensure the boot is not full of heavy things with fat folk in the back seats) I can recommend the universal cure

And second, SSR "G". Is the G a good thing? Am I right in thinking that different letters after SSR mean the car has different features?

in theory SSRG is the top spec, but with the japs sticking all the random options on, the ssrx is often very similar, though you get the fancy recaro seats!
