whats your voltage at when its running/revving?
The lil guage thing was about 3/4 of the way up when its running.

I havent driven it for a week because of waiting for a new thermostat to get fitted. It was fitted this morning so first time out in a week.

Yeah all 4 belts are on, The A/C belt used to slip and make a racket! That was kinda sorted and there was another faint squek that i assumed was the A/C belt still cuz my uncle said the tensioner was f**ked, also the PAS pump belt used to slip but thats sorted... but still a mild squeek remains! So Vince might be on the button...

        fingers crossed!

if you had no vacuum the pedal would be very hard to push down,i would suspect the seals have gone in the master cylinder.

I'd go along with that, unless you're losing vast amounts of fluid when you press the pedal down.

If after pumping the pedal several times your fluid level is the same, then it's probably the master cylinder..........unfortunatel y.

But it shouldn't take long to fix once you've pated with more money and recieved the item.

I had a quick check under the front earlier, The disc on the passenger side is really rough and unevenly worn. Also when pushing the brake pedal occasionally the ' (BRAKE) ' bit on the dash comes up.

So i'm assuming low pads and busted discs arn't helping my cause!

Only had the MOT a month or so ago, suprised they passed it like that.

Oh! Also you can hear a relay clicking near the gear selector when i put my foot on the brake too, dont know if that helps make the problem more obvious?

That's the relay clicking to allow the gear lever to be moved out of P when the brake pedal is pressed.

If the pedal is going all the way to the floor and there are no obvious leaks I would deffo try the master cylinder first.

Looks like were all talking master cylinder.

Just for my benifit/future reference. Can anyone tell me if service kits are avaliable for the master cylinder or do we have to part with over £100s for a replacement.

I just got my MOT last Monday and to be honest was surprised it passed on the brakes. I like to be sure that things don't go wrong and try to keep on top of the old truck but have the feeling I will be looking for a master cylinder/servo service kit soon.

                            Cheers JB
