  • Dam, broke my aerial off!!!

(Looks as though some one has dug up this old post... aerial has long since been fixed,, bought a replacment mast from e-bay)
    ..............
Anyhow on Saturday evening while backing out of a tight parking gap I managed to snap my electric aerial on a branch wasn’t anything I could do except cut the dammed thing off.

So the question is, does anyone have a spare electric aerial? Does any other Toyota model fit? Or should I be looking to fit something that is less liable to damage?

Roughtrax do a replacement mast which takes 2 minutes to fit with only a set of pliers.

I snapped mine off the day I picked my Surf up.......think I'll order one from RoughTrax after spacking about too long trying to repair the one I've got.....

Pretty sure mine's doomed. It was fine until Tony did the 2" lift on my truck, that seems to have raised it just enough that it catches on a tree on my way home now

Bent mine the first time I put it through the local car wash. I forget the aerial wasn't part of the windscreen, like on the last car (Duhh!!).

I had to drive out half way through the wash, to avoid it getting snapped clean off. Still works.....

who can give me some advice. my aerial broke and now i have wedged it back in with a screw. but picking up stations is $$$$. and were going to france so want to be able to get those at least.

whats the cheapest option and easiest. i dont care if its rubber or the same electronic metal one. i just want it working, and to go down by itself if its metal so i dont take it off again.

how hard is the mast to fit?
can i buy a rubber one and leave the lead still wired up in the car? i really dont want to have to take the dash apart.

                            thanks..
