  • I have a question!

For those of you that have a TV in your trucks or caravans, what is the best aerial to use, standard analogue type that is.
I have a 10" LCD monitor that is 12v powered, so I'll be using it when camping if possible.

    Fancks!

you're shattering alot of people's faith of your all-knowingness...or something, i don't know.

i swear, it was like that when i got here...

Vince - have you tried a caravan type shop / online store - they'd sell that type of ariel. could even mount one of those circular type AWAX type ariels on your roof!!!
      Everyone thinks I'm paranoid!!

for our caravan we use a washing line pole from wilkinsons with one of their aerials tie wrapped to our jockey wheel.
Although this year we have become mor sophisticated and fixed it to our jockey wheel wih some u type bracket and bolts

Is it for mounting on the Surf? Depends what you want, so to speak. An Omni will work regardless of positioning, but the gain will be low. A directional aerial has better gain, but requires alignment.

I've got a little one that came with the USB TV thingy for my laptop - but today, I'm fitting my new 8" touchscreen with TV built in, so I'll plug it in and see what it's like.

Otherwise, I'd go to Specialist Leisure and see what they've got

(I'm with Logey - how did you not know this????)

Got a seven inch LCD in the truck , use a set top type of areial with
a built in switchable amplifier , pick them up from any Esso truck stop /
services for about £12:00 ish , seems to work fine all over the country when

They're all designed to the same specs, so unless you're travelling way up north, they should all work spot bollock. You can get the motorised fold down types that are auto positioning and everything.
