Thanks mate but I would end up with a tiny avatar. The max allowed for an avatar on this forum is about 24.4kb. There are 22 frames in the gif which makes it a pretty large file. By the time I resized it down to 24.4 kb I don't think it would be visible!

reduce the quality of it. you could probably get it down to 8 colours or something
