I actually bought ours for the missus, as she'd complained bitterly for 2yrs after I bought her an estate car for the dogs (nefoundland & boxer) that she wanted a 4x4, and then when she got in it for the first time she was all like "I'm not sure if I like it coz it's so big and it's automatic....."
I told her it's what you wanted so lump it, I like it and we're keeping it!
Anyhow, now she's gotten used to it, it's all I can do to prise the keys from her grasp to go and play off road in it - she is firmly in the shiney club camp as far as the surf is concerned.
(Bless her, she thinks she's gone "offroad" when she parks on a grass verge )

We have a cure for that - ask Woodzie to give her one of his driving lessons

I'm not entirely sure I like the sound of that, as much as I like getting the surf dirty, I don't think I want it coming home as a "bag of bits".

Vicki wont come offroading with me cos she thinks it's dangerous!

Still, it means I can get lashed in the evenings and fall over without getting scowled at

Well got to say the Mrs was devastated when we had to sell the surf to get an MPV. She loved it & could park it in any car park etc.

It was a low-mileage light blue 1996 SSRG intercooler with everything. Damn I miss that motor

Anyway not all bad - we stuck with jap imports - got a Toyota Estima G-spec with high roof. Not quite as gorgeous as the Surf but good anyway...

The lad's not right in the head.

Show him a slope and he'll drive up and park on it at some crazy angle.

He's the kind of guy who you'd find flying a kite in the dark, and thats just disturbing...

my better third won't touch it (oo err missus, and the surf as well) its too big for her. but i picked her up from malaga airport last month and she was so disgusted by the dust everywhere, she actually washed it.
                                Now surfing in the sun
