Poole & Bournemouth-ites

Me and the missus are winging it out of bournmouth airport next sunday 17th, to save any rushes sun am we are planning to drive to the area on sat pm.
as we know no better we were planning to spend sat night at holiday inn poole. what we would like to know is
anyware reasonable as an alternative to stay, just for sat night
somewhere good for nosh sat night - not indian
anywhere worth a visit sat evening?
I am kicking myself because I have paid for parking at the airport, I am sure someone could have had a better idea!

yea you could of parked your truck at my place.you could visit tower park,lots of places to eat.or poole quay very nice pubs along the quay.have a wander around old poole town while your on the quay too.
