Its only taken me 3 yrs and replacing many steering/front suspension compents to figure out why my vehicle pulls to one side
i had also moved front axle tyre pair to back etc
It always pulled to left
recently i swapped front tyres from side to side, and truck started pulling to right!
So i came to conclusion the tyre on the pull side must be different diameter,
as air pressures identical!
i put offending tyre on back drivers side, still a bit of pull to right, but nothing like it was before
previous owner had these set of camac 4x4 mud tyres put on at same time, so not like one has been replaced,
also i used a tread depth measuring tool and tread within 1mm on the tyres
so why on earth the different diameter !!!!
the tyres are around 4-5 yrs old, do they sag in time?
they may have been remoulds not sure, would that have an effect - and be a reason for different diameters - and how can you tell if a tyre is a remould?
will this knacker my diff anymore having different diameter tyres on same axle?
guess if i finally get round to fitting a truetrac gear lsd diff on the back axle, i should make sure the tyres same diameter first
at least i know why the thing pulled to left all those years,
shame i waste time and ££ replacing the pitman, idler arms and steering knuckle ball-joints.....
