towbars and ECT?

dear all,
brand new to this but here goes. Im after a towbar for my 92 ssr-x, I know all about £125 witter brand new, but has any one got a second hand or dimensions so I can fab' one. After all that is my job!! I've seen a bad photo of the componants but couldn't even guess the measurements from it. Also (this must have been asked 1000's times) whats the ECT do. I know I know I'm a new owner thickie.

Dont know about towbar, but ECT switch keeps engine revving higher before changing gear-hence faster acceleration.
