Help!

Hi, anyone know of a good garage round the cambridge area who will touch a surf and know what they are doing! ? We hit a problem today, just got on the A14 and noticed the red light on, the turbo light off and the temperature gauge went through the roof. We managed to get off the road quick and pulled into the cemetery car park, appropriate!, no water in the radiator but expansion tank was full. We got it recovered home, filled it back up with water and took the thermostat out. Now seems ok, no smoke, but will be replacing the rad cap and thermostat asap. Have we escaped any serious damage? please advise!

Hi,

I can't comment on garages up there in Cambs (LONG time since I lived up there) but get the old girl pressure tested, and also tested for combustion gases.

Do you know if it's had the head done ?

Has trev says get her pressure tested asap. and change the rad cap and thermostat too before traveling to far...
