tow bar electrics

This non surf related! in fact its for a ford fiesta 56 reg i think.

A freind has been given a towbar which is fitted, but with it there is a "7 way bulb failure by-pass relay with anti chatter and buzzer relay", there arnt any destuctions with it. anybody know owt about em or how to find what wires are for what on the relay?.

The bulb thingy is for cars with a bulb failure warning system, eg dash light that comes on when an exterior bulb fails. I'm not sure if it can be used on a car without that facility unless you can bypass the failure system. As for the wires you can get a wiring diagram on tinternet, theres hundreds, just google towbar electrical diagrams. The wires are standard colours. You can get a standard 7 way single electric kit from any motor spares store for about £5 - £10 me thinks.

Hi ive seen a few diagrams on the tinternet , and like you say all the cable coulors are the same so thats not a prob, but its the wires that go from the box to correct wires in the car these are unique to this box so could start blowing fuses an stuff if i fit em wrong.

Then bypass the bulb failure relay or get a standard 12n socket and wiring kit.

anybody know wot size inline fuse should be used on the unit mentioned above???
