  • Tumble dryer ist kaputt!

Afternoon everyone, here's a quick one for you.....
My tumble dryer stopped working a couple of days ago and I've been trying to work out what the problem is so I can fix it myself. I've had the back off it and it looks pretty simple to be honest. The thing that I suspect is the likely culprit is the heater element which, when using a multimeter across the terminals, appears to have an infinite resistance (which to me suggests the element is broken). Does this sound correct? Thanks in advance, Simon

what is the matter? does it not turn or does it not heat or both?

Not turning it is the belt
No heat I would say it is the element
    not blowing new motor

what ever it is they aren't that expensive just buy a new one saves all the hassle

There's no heat, otherwise it seems to work fine. (Well, apart from the fact that 'working fine' would imply it dries the clothes which it doesn't, so actually it's otherwise completely broken! : ) The cheapest I've managed to find an element for is £65 so I'm trying to make sure it's that before I go out and buy one. To be honest though it's driving me potty, and now that it's started to rain I'd rather just spend the money and hopefully have nice dry bounce-smelling clothes!

If it's open circuit, it's knackered.

Mine went a few months back, all worked fine apart from no heat. Spoke to a mate and he told me what it was likely to be.
Was two small ceramic type resistors about £4 each, both situated next to each other, took off back and there they were.

              Change the rad cap.

Have you checked the fault codes?
