  • Another one bites the dust

Well it had to happen, as I said in an earlier post I was looking for a van to start up my new business.
But after looking through dozens of wrecks in autotrader and fleabay there was only one thing for it and the Surf has to go.
I've just reluctantly put it on Ebay.
I'll be very sad to see it go (assuming it does) but as soon as I start to make my fortune the first thing I will be buying is another Surf (probably the hairdressers model).
I'll still be looking in on the forum, kind of second nature now so you havn't got rid of me yet.

    Cheers
Laugh!!! I nearly bought my own beer.

    dont be daft man,

the surf is better than a lot of vans, astras, escorts, anything that size.

only down side is the economy.

The first van I bought was a $$$$py fiat. I sold that and bought a hilux pick-up. Then a 2 door 1st. gen. Now I`ve settled on a 3lt 2nd gen. for my landscaping business. I was looking at uk hilux double-cabs but all are expensive with high miles. My advice- if you can get away with using a surf for your business then do it. You wont get a commercial vehicle with a 2.4td or 3.0 td in as good/unabused condition as a surf.
Some business` are not suited to the image though.
                  cheers for now,
                  chris

Have to agree with you there. The Surf has been the best works vehicle I've ever had. BTW, it's not that the Surf doesn't suit certain business images, it's that certain businesses try to put across an image, usually fake.

Bought a 2002 Vivaro 1.9 tdi, just been fitting the tow bar so still caravanning Mark.
I'm starting up a handyman business, as some will know I've been off work for a year now with health problems and I probably could stay on benefits now until I retire in about 7 years, but I would rather be paying my way.
At least being self employed I can pick and choose what work I can and will do, not like being told what I must do by an employer.

You have to watch some sites with vans as they wont let you on PIKEY etc

                            vivaro's are ok,,

                            untill the fuel pump goes,,

£1000+ is the damage, it's a non servicable item, and astras are the same.

thats from around a W reg if i'm not mistaken.

no doubt someone will blow me down in flames in a mo

                            cheers scotty
