no lights at all mate no matter what i do , do i need to get a new turbo

Under the throttle housing, there is a short, small diameter rubber pipe that's 'j' shaped and has a small plastic valve connected to it. Make sure this little pipe is connected and not dropped off, as they get oil on them, swell and slip off. If it is off then you'll have no turbo boost.

done that mate all hoses ok, they is a bar connecting from the front of the turbo seems to be in a fixed postion is that right

like rick said earlier,check that the wastegate isnt stuck open.b.t.w what colour exhaust smoke are you getting.???

the rod seems to be connected to a swivel on the exhaust outlet

try running it with the hose removed from the front of the turbo.the one that connects to the plastic pipe that runs over the top of the engine,.see if that makes a difference.

yes matt i have even printed out your link for refrence cheers, so i take it know one has had any dealings with restricters that have been put on regards jason

i dont know how you could restrict the 2.4 apart from some sort of electronic restrictor in the efi unit.ahhh what about the tps switch.have you checked that.

Restrictors are not known to be fitted to SURFS maybe he was blagging as there may have been a problem the existing owner could not fix

There isn't a restrictor. Someone's been feeding you $$$$$$$$. Work through all suggested areas one by one. A precise description of what the symptoms are would also be helpful. The description so far leaves a lot to interpretation.
