            Well I would have taken the wheel off....however the wheel brace don't fit very well because of the angle of the wheels sides and the size of the lenght of the wheel nut you cannot get a good purchase on the nut. Any one else got this problem and does it answer my question ....yes to wheel spacers?...bugger ...do I need longer wheel nuts or a real thin sided wheel brace.

                as trev said, a socket is your best bet. then get new, longer wheel nuts too.

                  If there are spacers there they are not 30 mm ones

                  fact they are 5 mm if that.......It's more offset in my opinion

                    Found this one in my tool kit worked a treat Strange that was the only Multi TOOL in my tool box and it was a perfect fit...

                          Looks like the off setters win

                          Glad I did this because I would not have been able to change my tyre if I needed to without the Multi TOOL!!!
