    Update

To answer Surferjess's questions - he's in St Albans Hospital and his baby will sit outside the house as I have my own beasty.

Jon phoned me about half an hour ago, although he was supposed to go down for his op at about 1.30 he still hasn't gone down yet. It's a real pain for him just sitting around waiting.

I'll keep you updated and let you know how it went when I know.

    Jenny

Good luck Jon, hope all goes well for you, i know that disc pain, never had pain like it before or since, embarrassing on one occiasion as well, they had to cart me from the bedroom in me skivvies and up the hospital in this sort of bent forward position, bl00dy ambulance guys were nearly wetting themselves, thought i'd been on the job when it went,
Richard!!! why would you want pictures of it? thats the last thing i'd want to see, your as bad as my dad, he brought a cist he had removed home in a matchbox, me mum nearly threw up, then nearly put him back in hospital,

                            Update No. 2

Jon finally went down for his op at about 4.

I left home as 5.45 as the nurse told me he should be back on the ward by 6.30. Finally got to the hospital at 7. Poxy rush hour traffic!!!!!

Jon phoned me while I was on my way there to let me know he was ok and awake. He was asleep again by the time I got there.

I stayed for an hour, he was pretty out of it but he seems fine. His parents are going to visit tomorrow afternoon as I've got to work but I'll go back again tomorrow evening and report back on progress.

I'll pass on your messages of support and report back with any more news tomorrow.

                            Jenny

                                Great News Jenny...

Plenty of water and a small amount of food every couple of hours... That general anaesthetic is a real pain... oh and more grapes and fruit than he can bear... The codeine will play havoc with his insides...
