Spraying chrome

Hi All,

Does anyone know if it's possible to paint over chrome? I mean by proffessionals, I'm not keen to do a diy flaky 2 pac job Think along the lines of refurbing alloys and possibly over chrome bumpers.

Pirate-Storm's truck's chrome bumpers have been sprayed black and also Jedi's old truck was done also

no m8 only thing is i do have a spot of chrome showing through on one edge n a small spot on the bumper from a stone chip but like all paint work it can be touched up. i didnt do the bumpers myself as it was there already when i bought it

as long as the area in question is keyed up properly and an acid etch primer is used it should be ok.

It all depends on the prep work.
A good sanding to roughen the chrome and get rid of the shine, followed by an etch primer, standard primer and then top coat.

Even better would be bead blasted then powder coated.
