ok... it was all simple...
he was in a coma with cancer, in the future... the 70's was all acted out in his head and the dci needed to be killed cos he was the cancer.


THEN!... it all got turned on it's head, he actually had amnesia and 1973 was real life, but all the voices were from an accident he had!

BUT... he went towards the light in the tunnel and arrived back in the future (or is it the present day?) and all was good.

THEN... he decided he didn't like the future/present so he jumped off a building to kill/maim himself and get back to 1973.

SO... which was the real reality???

Yeah, but..when he was in the future, in that meeting and he cut his finger, but couldn't feel it, right.. that meant the future wasn't real and the jump thing was just a metaphor for 'waking up, just like he nearly did in the second episode but that soppy plonk stopped him..
