Hi all,
another newbie just got a surf, it smokes for a bit on cold startup,running rough for maybe 10-15 secs,like glow plug out,but checked them and replaced two that were a bit slow seems to be excess/unburnt fuel,does the 2.4 td have an excess fuel/cold start fitted that could be causing the problem

do you wait till the relay clicks or the buzzer sounds before starting up.Try putting a bottle of redex in 1/4 tank of fuel and give it a good hard drive.
When were the oil and filters changed last also

REDEX for DIESELS. I saw a bloke at the Garage using petrol Injector cleaner on his Diesel BMW the other day.

Hey all just got my surf too and put redex in it, it works a treat stopped smoking now!! woohoo.
