  • bull bars for hilux

    hi,
i got a really simple one piece front bar for the hilux, mine is a K reg.
i went to put it on, but where the 4 bolts will go, looks like my bumper comes down too far so i cant fit it.
im assuming its for the older style hilux ?

so, ill rather get rid if i cant fit it.
it was painted black but ive steamed cleaned it back to a chrome.
    is any one interested?
    cheers, tony.

(hope im not doing anything wrong posting this here)

You should have towing hooks on the chassis front theres 4 bolts 2 each side you use these to attach A-BAR

yes i got these, but the bumper touches the bars, and its no where near where it should be...
the bolt holes would line up if the bumper was off, so i remember. its why i had the thought may be its for an older shape hilux.

            ok i have some pics:

i have a '92 surf. as you can see, the bolts for the bars, are higher than the front bumper.
            tommorrow was long wasnt it

looks like you're missing the mounting brackets from that bullbar. underneath where that towing hook is, is where you would bolt the thing on. but you need to either make up or find the fixings for the bull bar first.

they would be horizontal to the fixing point on the surf, so the bolts would go up through the bracket and into the holes.

Well, the bar's right, you just need the brackets. I might have some, I can't remember if Chillitt took them off when he removed my bullbar. If I do, you can have them when I get me truck back.

On the noise thing, have you checked and lubricated the UJs on the rear prop?

I just made that up to sound clever, but I gather they wear out and there would be one near where you're talking about
