am i cynical? or am i reading between the lines.... it seems to me somone is getting a 3rd gen and is looking for official approval.
No, not at all! I’d like to run my 2nd Gen for a good few years yet.
It was just a case of considering any future progression…..
As regards the neighbours’ new Ford, Vauxhalls, Renaults or whatever… I’d much rather spend money on a good quality second-hand vehicle that I enjoy driving than some boring new family hack….
As I say, I do like the Land Cruisers…. But not the very latest versions… they look too much errr like a Hair Dressers’ LC…..
Hmmm, I wonder if the Land Cruiser (or Shogun /Padjero) Forums have the same sort of dislike of newer “plastic” models?
I personally like the 3rd gen. It's bigger, has better brakes and looks good (apart from the ar*e end).
But I do like my 2nd gen with all it's goodies and chrome all over the place. I still think they should have put discs on the back though, even the Pajero has rear discs.
Our 2nd Gen trucks are now between 12 and 17 years old so what are we going to do as our trucks age? Will we have to move on to the 3rd Gen trucks?
Will we need a policy re-think so that it is acceptable for us “real men” to drive these 3rd Gens, and not just Hair Dressers?
Personally, in a few years time I’d like to move on to a full size Land Cruiser …. That is if we haven’t been priced off the roads by then.
HI WELL it just so happens l have a Landcruiser that could be bought for the right price.

Ha you young whipper snappers dont yet realise that a
SURF IS FOR LIFE
not just a fashion statment.
Treat her nice with a bit of TLC and she will serve you well till she dies.My 1st gen was born in April 1989 one of the last to roll of the line and she is still going STRONG even after 7 years of abuse.
Well let's see. Mine is a 1993 3L TD with 85,000 on the clock. That means I;ve got about 200,000 miles before I have to start thinking about what to do next :P
