cv joint and shaft vertical movement

Can anyone let me know what is the normal amount of vertical lift on cv joint and shaft, without another to compare it is hard to know what the norm is, what i am finding is on both sides (n/s & o/s) i have movement when putting a bar on top of lower wishbone and prying upwards on shaft, this might be correct but i would like someones opinion on it

They are never completely tight, if you have a rattle from the front that disappears when you press the 4WD button, then its normally the bushes in the hub, the short side drive shaft inner end is normally looser than the outer, but it usually only needs changing when it starts to leak diff oil out past the seal.
