is there anything i can ask if i get a letter in the next two weeks do they have to have a mobile camera sign so far down the road etc, looked on the local bills web site and there is no notification of the road i was on being targeted but about 5 others have..........bl00dy things need
Sorry mate but i got cought going 35 in a 30 mile zone. When i got a fine through i had 3 penalty points and £60.00 fine. So i wrote back arguing that they allow u 2 mph over so really i was being done for only being 3mph over the speed limit. Also said that if i had burgled a house and it was my first a fence i would have got away with a telling off. This went on for 6 months they even said they agreed with me but still the fine stands. So i took it back to court and for my efforts and arguing they gave me still 3 penalty points and now a £160.00 fine . There is no way around it u have to pay whatever.

They're back out in force now the mornings and evenings are lighter, catching us to and from work. I passed one yesterday. We're an easy target, we work, run our vehicles legal, don't you just love 'em.
Anyway its a two by four most of the time....

sorry for the non reply, had some internet probs. i was driving in a 40 and and doing about 39. lol no i was doing around 50.

gunna wait for the letter and just hope, i was flashed by a guy behind me and when it clicked what may have happened i turned round in the car to have a drive back to see if it was a mobile trap and not the ved vans. so it was litterally 4 mins from being flashed to then on my way back passing the van that i thought was the mobile camera van, but the thing was he was traveling the other way, soooooooooooooo i have been extreemly lucky and not got caught cos they were or had packed up before i went past, or i was the last pic of the day and will bet my buggering by the money donation club, we shal see...

              erm... speeding isn't legal!
everyone does it (except the old git across the road from me!)... but if you get caught, you gotta pay the price!

i don't agree with artificially low speed limits, like dual carriageways with 30mph limit and speed cameras down hill just to catch lorrys doing 32mph on the brakes.
they should have more near schools where you really need to keep slow, then there can't be any complaints.

They are a right pain the ar*e. The fixed ones aren't so bad, but those vans are a nightmare.

There are some locations that they use the same place, so when approaching you can be prepared.

It's the not knowing that's the worst. There was a dark coloured van in the lay-by on the left going into Didcot yesterday from Milton Interchange. There were two windows in the top of the back doors with cameras looking out, then further up by the rounderbout there were two Police cars parked up. I think this one was a MOT and Tax van, but I've never seen a dark one before.

                      .

Main road out of our town starts off at 30mph and about 500yds from the school changes to 40 for about 1/2 mile past the school and then back to 30 and there is a fixed camera in the 40mph section, where's the sense in that????
Laugh!!! I nearly bought my own beer.

I don't want to sound nasty here, but where I live, there is a 30 mph limit, no footpaths along the main road, and no street lights. Approx 70-80% of vehicles, (cars, vans, trucks, lorries and mostly motorbikes) exceed this and in most cases, by a considerable margin. I tried to set up a rudimentary speed test, and most of the bikers went by too fast to record (two posts, a measured distance apart & a stopwatch).

I have been campaigning for 6 years to get something done to monitor and enforce the speed limit in my village, to no avail. So - these cameras are there for a reason, and 10 miles and hour over the speed limit - you should accept the points, pay the fine and stick to the speed limit - these restrictions are put in place for a reason.
