Unfortunately a lot ( not all) of the people involved with dog and horse racing don't actually care about the animals, (although I'm sure they would disagree) coz as soon as they stop winning, or don't win at all they get rid of them, and forget they ever exsisted.
I see it a lot at the stables where we keep our horse, the girls there can be quite cruel to the horses( and to each other), and buy and sell them purly for the purpose of winning little rosettes and trophies.
Dog breeders can be the same, keeping brood bitches just to make money and making them have puppies far too often for their health, and the condition that some of the puppies are sold in is shocking( fleas, mange, and other health prolems) just so they don't ave to spend money on them at the vets.
There should be licences for horse and dog/cat ownership, and the fees should go towards policing cruelty.

Yeah i aggree with that! The PSPCA should really be government funded and given much more power than it has, animal cruelty should be on a par with child cruelty with much harsher sentences, after all neither can fight back or defend themselves, this subject really makes my blood boil, i try not to see news reports on this cos it gets my back up and i know there's sodall i can do about it anyway

It makes my blood boil that the RSPCA has nearly bankrupted itself persuing political aims rather than caring for animals. They are now in danger of loosing their charitable status because of it. and while all that nonsense is going on, people are still abusing animals. As it is, I would not want them getting any more power, and they wont get any of my money either, because they will not use it to protect animals.
