Something left over

After fitting a new engine, well secondhand one I found I had this part in the pic left over, do you think its important.

is that the egr pipe that goes round the back of the block is it Gary.If it is that was a sod to get off when i done my turbo

Yep sure is, Its a lot easier to get to everything without it on

Thats whay I thought, got a bit of an exhaust blow from round the manifold don't know if its where this bits meant to fit.

i ended up taking the handbrake cable housing off and disconnecting the cable from underneath to give me enough room to get a spanner in to undo/do up the nuts for that bloomin thing

Thats whay I thought, got a bit of an exhaust blow from round the manifold don't know if its where this bits meant to fit.

did you plate the hole over Gary and if so with what,cause if i ever need to take the pipe off again then i will leave it off

yeah made the plates out of 5mm stainless steel plate

seeing that bleddy thing has just given me the shivers.. I hate em, I tells yer, I hates them!

ideal..i was thinking of something a bit thinner at the time but 5mm would be better.You use some instant gasket stuff on it aswell

No just used the original gaskets, as the plates where so thick there was no distortion so they sealed perfectly
