  • So Angry

i am so angry i could scream and scream and scream till i a SICK
i have been Busy preparing the POPSMOBILE for the Mac challenge over the last couple of weeks
all was going fine all i had left to do was an OIL/FILTER change this weekend and bingo let the Mac begin
BUT NO Forces go to work
1st a certain member of this forum said he had a filter he did not need so it was mine (HE DID NOT SEND IT forgot he was so busy)
Phone roughtraxs yesterday order oil filter (be with you in the morning)
and sure as morning follows night the package arrived.
so this morning do my husband helps wife duties first (so the Maccers get CAKE) and set about draining the oil
    NO Problems so far.
2nd problem snap couple bolts taking off bash plate to remove half of salisbury plain to lighten the truck some.
3rd oil drain (sump plug refitted TONYN )
open package from roughtraxs to find the silly Bugga's sent me a fuel filter.

rang jotto jon for a shoulder to winge on and he said tip the oil in and we can change filter on thursday when we meet up at his house to go on our merry way north.
    thanks Jon

I decided to do an oil change today and replace the oil cooler housing bypass valves at the same time. Slightly rounded one plug when the spanner slipped and now will be a bugger to get out. Trying again tomorrow.

          Why the bypass valves?

Well, I had a small leak and decided that while I had to remove the caps to do the seals I would replace them anyway. Probably not necessary but I do tend to do that sort of thing if something like this is in a very awkward spot.

Saves having to do the job twice, though. And that definitely ain't an easy spot to get to.

I must admit I was to blame for the nut being damaged. A spanner has to be used to undo them because of the position and not enough room for a socket and bar. I didn't have a piece of pipe the right diameter to fit over the open end section of the spanner (for extra leverage) so I could use the ring section. Decided it would be ok to use the pipe over the ring and undo with the open end. Well, you know the rest.
