                nev you must have loads of old sockets lying about, why dont you just weld a bar to the one you want, i,ve done this loads of times, you can end up with a load of special socket bars, come in very usefull. or weld the ring end of an af spanner to the socket.

                  the first oil change i did , i to had the wrong filter from the facrors and the could not get the right on for a day or two so i went into our stores and got a big ford motorcraft filter ( transit i think ) and it went on a dream and stayed on for 10k till the next oil change.
                  i had to as i used a claw on the old filter and it bust it up good .

                    Thought about the same thing last night. Yeah I've got a few old tools lying around. Couldn't be bothered getting the welder out so will just cut a ring/open end spanner up and slip a pipe over the ring end of it.
