Our littl'un (3yrs , girl) went in today to have tonsils and adanoids out, but she got in to such a state in the hospital, they could'nt give the anaesthetic, so we were told she had to have gas. I had to physically hold her with force, her head cradled in my hand, whilst they held the mask over her face, while she's crying out "please daddy take me home".
I have never been so cut up in my life, and very, very emotional when I left her.
Its cruel to be kind, but she's had tonsilitis 10 times in the last year and she was made a priority case, as she felt badly ill everytime she got it.
Its all over now, and she's tucked in to crisps, chips, and sandwiches only 7-8 hours after the op........................
..................but, boy, what an emotional and very stressful day,
must be something to do with dads and their daughters.
