  • Starting Problems

Just managed to get the moter the way I like it (i.e. working....) and it has started playing up again.
When I turn the key in the ignition there is a pause in the stage before the engine start for the Glow plugs to warm up, when these are ready there is a beep (at least I assume that's what it's for?!?!).
For some reason it is now taking at least 3 times longer to beep and the engine won't start first time. It is now taking between 6-8 attempts before she will start and even then I have to really pump the gas to keep her going.
Once she is going she is fine and drives perfectly.

Could this be a glow plug problem?? I assume it is but I can't see why this would cause a massive cloud of smoke (which has never happened previously) when she starts. Any suggestions??

Agree with other posts. No glow power, or knackered plugs.

So change plugs and/or fuse, if that fails kick car and take it to a garage!!
I thought that's what the problem might have been from looking at other posts, but thought it would be worth checking before I start taking everything to bits, Cheers chaps!!

I thought it might have been the batteries as the glow plugs were only replaced a few months ago but the Battery meter in the cab is showing normal.
