and I ment £40 for all 4 rims and tyres

As for my tyres, look up how much 4 off 35x16/15 TSL Boggers and 12x15" Rims cost. Probably £1.5k at least, maybe more.

That speaks for itself really, £1.5k is not £2.4k and he doesn't have 35s either.
Sorry for ranting but the words "wind" and "pi$$ing" spring to mind. God it's like trying to get an insurance quote Everyone has their opinion of insurance companies and mine is "legalised scam". Like it or lump it

I don't get what you're arguing about. The wheels got nicked, the insurance said they would be £2.4k to replace from a main Toyota dealer, they know that's a bit steep so they're coming round to make an offer.

How could that make you angry? I would worry if they offered less than, say, £800 cash alternative but they've done nothing so far other than provide an estimate based on a main dealer price and arrange to come round and discuss what to do next.

To put it another way, what would you rather they did?

Arguing? did i miss something? argument defined as two parties failing to reach or come to an amicable decision or agreement. I don't have an argument with any body, or even insurance companies. The fact that my opinion of insurance companies as a whole seems to offend people is really pretty sad for want of a better word. If we're all honest who relishes the fact that we all have, by no choice of ours, to pay rediculous amounts of wonga for something we may never need or use as such. The fact that insurance companies uses the "boy racers and car thieves" as a get out clause for hoiking prices beyond all reasonable levels is a load of bo11oks. My pet hate is with them, not anyone on here. Maybe next time i have an opinion i'll keep me gob shut. IF ANYONE IS OFFENDED BY MY OPINION OF INSURANCE COMPANIES, THEN PLEASE ACCEPT MY APPOLOGIES NOW. This is my opinion only and i stick by it............................ ....

I was just wondering what they had done to get your back on this occasion. Sounds like they're acting perfectly reasonably. So far.

No one else does on here! Would make the place pretty quiet!

I think the end result proves how daft the insurance companys are! £2.5K!! less than £1K would have got some stunning aftermarket 8" rims and new 31" BFG A/T's. Which I'm sure Bonzi would have loved more than another set of standard alloys. And the Insurance Co could have saved half the expence.

Why claim, your excess is £300 and you may even lose your no claims (unless I have miss-read this part before the IOTW crew chase me ). You could have a fresh set for less? You know how your truck runs so you now have the risk of buying one which could lose its head on you.. then you have more expense?

Sorry to see that your tyres and wheels were nicked mate.

The reason the insurance company has gone for genuine parts is because that's what they should be doing. I would be pretty pi**ed if they said they would go down the local motor factors and buy some cheap rims and cr*p tyres.

                              I blame Toyota. £300 a rim is fuc*ing extortion.

I will say this though mate.

MAKE SURE THE RIMS CAN'T BE REMOVED AGAIN

The people who nicked them will know full well what they are worth and will know you will be getting some brand new rims and tyres via the insurance company. They might try to get the new ones too.

See if you can get a stamp of your post code stamped into the rims on the inside, incase they go missing again.
