Hi I am new to this site and have little experience with 4x4 other than the Land Rovers I drive at work. I now need to get a 4x4 for my self so I can tow a horsebox. I have been looking around and I like the Surf. But like I said I do not have much experience and would appreciate input from other members who have owned other 4x4 and how the surf compares. Thanks

I did an off road driving experence and drove a disco on muds and then took mine out one its half worn at's and it went everywere the disco did and even the instructor said it was a more comfortable ride! did not bottem once, the disco did several times, and i have a tow bar!
It all depends if you want a noisey, unreliable (most of the time) and uncomfortable truck or a SURF!!!it never rain it pours! glad I got the 4X4

I suspect
A lot of people on here have at one time or another
owned Land Rovers products of equal newness to their surfs
For myself I've had a couple of Disco's and a SWB
I always liked the look of the Rangie' although my pockets are not deep enough to keep one going anyway.
The discos,
leaked and failed in a variety of expensive and infuriating ways,
which led me to return once again to Jap stuff,
Daihatsu/Isuzu
and thanks to Topgear another Hilux was simply out of the question as prices
had achieved a new level of idiocy,
whereas a Surf which is pretty much the same thing (but with roof)
looked a good bet,
and has been excellent
I tow a box most weekends with One, or sometimes Two horses on,
it copes fine I'm very happy, this site helps
although they are a bit redneck TBH
nothing offence angry mob
right....
