How'd you guess. If I ever meet the git who designed that front diff I really do intend to beat them brutally. Just abouts done the rear. Temporarily fixed the hose in place 'cos I can't find my large cable ties either. You ever get that feeling that it's just not your day?
Yup, but I didn't even have the spanner in my hand at the time. Woodzie, what is the best way to get that front breather out? Is it just a case of try and drop the ring spanner on and hope for the best?
Thought about fitting breathers on mine a couple of weeks ago, until I dismantled one of them and found that it's not a breather, but a one way valve with a spring loaded flap that lets pressure out but won't allow water to get in.
Tried a pressure test and it sealed fully so left them alone.
That's how they're supposed to work. Just dismantled this one. That rubber seal is way too flimsy to prevent water being sucked in, though.
