  • Battery prices

Well three nights of minus 3c seem to have finally beaten the battery for my plastic mobile hair salon
Any ideas on a price guide for a replacement ? I've done my usual cheapskate trick of Bataid tablets and driven round the lanes etc but I think the jump leads will be out in the morning
Matt how about Worsborough Motor spares ?
    cheers Guys

Get yourself to Se(f|ph)tons. Best place for anything auto electrical. They do the pair for around £95-00, if I remember correctly. They'll usually fit them as well, if you want. You may be able to get them cheaper by shopping around, but I prefer to take the safer option.

Just bought one for my 2.4 adn it cost £73 inc vat (partco)
FYI I found to my cost that running with a struggling battery eventually does in your starter motor contacts. Part for that were £36 but the actual job was 8>10hours and in a really sh1t place to work on.

It is a sneaky bugger that one after the lights, ain't it?

Come to the lights along Upper Sheffield Road. Turn left at the lights to go towards Stairfoot. Just as you go past the church on the left, there's the High Street on the right. Turn down there. About halfway down, at the side of what used to be the post office, there is a gap between the buildings. Turn right into there. In front of you, there are a couple of industrial units in a yard. Ignore those. On the right, there's a long stone building. They are in there.

Edit: It's Darley Yard on the map:

It's easier than trying to understand my directions. They're an absolute gem of a place. They're the ones who all the local factors will send you to for alternator replacement or other electrical problems. Generally, if it's auto electrical and they can't fix it, you're buggered.

Glad to hear you've got it sorted. There's none of this phaffing about and cross referencing with them, is there.

That's why I'd ne'er think of going anywhere else for electrical probs or kit. And they never supply shoddy stuff, either. Bet she turns over like a good 'un now, doesn't she.

It'd be extremely easy to go past that turnoff without ever knowing they were there if you weren't specifically looking for them, wouldn't it.
