Have now purchased a 1996 3rd gen surf SSR-X 3.0TD, import from Japan, 83000 miles on the clock.

In excellent condition, will have 12 mths MOT, 6 mths tax and a 6 month warranty, and service. A cat 1 cobra immobiliser is also being fitted.

Took it for a test drive and everything seems OK, no signs of any leaks - absolutely no rust anywhere. A mechanic mate of mine also gave it the once over and said everything looked to be in order.

Cost (with part exing my battered old omega for 350 notes) was 4K. Sounded a reasonable deal to me at the time having looked at prices elsewhere.

that seems a good price for a 3 ......... 3r...........3rd.............. 3rd gen just be ready for the mods for the scissors and combs

Yeah, good price. You should be able to get your nails done and your tan topped up with the money you saved.

Seriously though it will be ideal for when i go fishing and shooting as some of the places i go to are pretty dire for access - not any more they aren't lol

Looking forward to doing some green laning and maybe some 4x4 sites too.

Hehe, we're being unfair. Four grand looks like a bit of a bargain for a 3rd gen and it looks tidy.

Wish you could get the 3rd gen intercooler with a 2nd gen bodyshell.

Yeah I was thinking that too because the springs do look new compare to the rest of it they were also a nice bright blue colour lol

Anyway of telling i.e measurements etc that will confirm if that is the case?
