Was considering those initially. Until..., the muppets who have been giving me grief for months have been using those, and caused nothing but problems with them. Not sure if it was due to the muppets or they Zyxel's, but I've gone off those even more now.

All you need is the IP address(es) assigned by the ISP... do what you want inbetween the double hop... then hard code what you have to and DHCP what doesn't have to go out and mask that set through the internal gateway. Or even step these DHCP assigned addresses out inside the double hop dmz...?

Bet you must have had some head scratching working that workaround out?

Still got me a mention in dispatches for getting an app to work in an environment that would never support it. App manufacturer was also real surprised.

You deserved the merit for that one. That's a borderline psychotic setup. Definitely not your run of the mill solution.

I am not going to take credit for it... I was responsible for the team... but it was one of the wakiest ideas that we had had, and it got past the security team.

What was really funny, is once we'd finished the pilot they spent nearly 8 months trying to break it and couldn't... I was chuffed to bits.
