    Hi All,
I got a jap import Surf SSR and I'm finding insurance a bit of pain. I'm now down to one insurance company "Priviledge Insurance". Anyone recommend a co that will insure jap import Surf's?
    -
Also, I need some chunky wind deflectors, full set. Again, any recommandations where to find these ?
    -
    Cheers,
    GSi

Have you tried Direct Line - The only reasonable quote (£560) I got although I have contacted "Club Toyota" to see if they can improve on it!
Try doing a search on the Forum as loads of people have asked about this
Good luck and if you get a good cheap one, let us know!
    Cheers
    Lou

        Try this link.

It was no use to me as I live in Northern Ireland. I've heard that Tesco's insure imports as well. But Tesco's are evil so avoid them if you can!

This seems to be one of the most commonly asked questions, perhaps we should add another section under Dealers or some such

Tescos are so evil, they charged me £294 for fully comp for me and the war department to drive 3ltr auto

                Nah
It was almost twice that amount until i asked for £1000 excess instead of £500 and the premium shot down.

I did that on the basis that so far I have never had an "at fault accident",
For me it is worth the risk.

Ah ha that explains it then. If your record is so good then why not go third party as well?

I hate Tesco's and most other supermarkets bacause of the way they do business and treat suppliers and customers alike. Not really anything to do with Surf's but I have my principles

T P F & T was only about £10 cheaper so made sense to have fully comp

It does pay to shop around and ask on here.
Methinks I shall call them and have them quote and remind me when mine is due

Mine is £700.00 with 6 years NCD. Shows what a lack of competition does for you...Or it might just be all the flippin teenagers in their souped up 1.1 Corsa's hurtling into hedges every night round here.

I am looking at my Tesco renewal now and it is £405 this year. £15 less year and that includes no-claims protection and legal.

I am going to phone about the A-bar today and will let you know what happens to the cost.
