luckily only done lots of local driving round farnham this morning, but it was no fun with branches all over the place. some trees down too, but only minor roads blocked/closed thankfully.
the biggest pest is sodding wheelie bins. there was enough warning about the high winds, so why haven't the idiots taken them in?
went to bracknell at 12.30 and the M3 was not pleasant, the surf was catching the wind far worse than my mondeo, but since i had to pick up my sisters' baby and bring her back to aldershot i took the surf for the safety, especially in these conditions.
another thing, why don't people put their fecking lights on when it's lashing down! idiots!i swear, it was like that when i got here...

Damage so far
Sat at traffic lights when wind takes roof tiles of the block of flats and hurls them at my Golf . Damage to drivers door , but nearly needed new pants as 1 piece just missed the drivers door glass .
I will leave the damage as the Insurance will rise on my Runner , and I may try and get one of my repairers to do the repair for me on the side .
On way home our road is blocked by a tree across it, went down next road and a further 3 trees are down , but not blocking the road .Rick...Member of 1st Gen club. ONE LIFE ... GET ONE !!

Certainly was horrendous traffic here in the Midlands tonight. I think all the local motorways (M1/M6/M42/M40) have been shut at one point or another. All traffic re-directed onto local roads leading to chaos. Went past a 6 mile (at least) traffic jam on the Fosseway - luckily my direction was clear. Then I took to the lanes just to keep clear of it all! Luckily no trees down.

weather
One of the worst weathers I been in 1990 was christmas
North Sea on a standby boat 80ft long,
N.B. not the platform, semi submersible, oil rig etc etc the guys
underneath the metal thingy 24-7-365
No ice cream makers on these boats but proper seafarers.......
190m.p.h. wind speeds, 30M er......yes 30 metre waves. okay 90 foot waves
(more than one) Seen Perfect Storm? try the real thing .
Can't understand a couple of squally gusts across the UK and every body goes radio rental and does 2m.p.h in their Fulham Farm-wagons.
So nacs to the weather haters of the UK.
Wot about the services wot are out there each day.?
fire people , para medics , ambulance peeps and oh yeah the rozers wot can be good as well.
I think rant is now resting............

Went hammering down a local lane at lunchtime today to get to B&Q in good time. Big puddle, obscured vision. Cleared in time for me to see a local plod waving me to slow down - just in time to notice a branch on the road in front of me.
Thank goodness for a 5" lift.
Once I'd passed, it was broken up enough for them to clear away easily.
Done my public service for the day!Cutting steps in the roof of the world
