Glow plug light

This is for a mate who has just put a new head on a hilux p/up.He got everything up and running and had a alternator problem so he managed to sort that out but now his glow plug light stays on all the time.He has tested the wiring and the glow plugs aren't heating while the light is on,they heat the plugs and then shuts off so its not so bad but he cannot find out why the light is staying on.He has spoken to toyota and they ain't got a clue as this is the first time its ever happened.The guy whos Hilux it is ain't to bothered but my mate would like to find out why the light stays on so any help is appreciated

sorry forgot to say its a 98/99 and either a 2.2 or 2.4 i'm not sure

It might be a -ve problem, the light is neg switched, meaning it has 12V all the time, and the Pre-heat timer ECU makes a -ve connection to turn on the light, if this wire is touching a ground somewhere, it will light all the time.

If the bulb has its own relay in the ECU, it could just be that it has jammed shut.
